


About the Role
The Maintenance Training Specialist will be responsible for assisting in developing the organization’s maintenance team. Approximately 50% of the role is dedicated to mentoring and developing the organization’s Maintenance Technicians through structured on-the-job training, coaching, skills development, and competency evaluations.
Key Activities
Provides mentoring and expert guidance to other Maintenance Technicians.
Interprets technical drawings or diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
Diagnoses and resolves electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems with equipment.
Troubleshoots mechanical problems and performs root cause analysis in partnership with operations to solve problems and make improvements.
Performs programming and troubleshooting for automated equipment including PLC’s, HMIs, and robots to resolve performance issues.
Performs rigorous quality control checks and validation procedures on new installations or repairs.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
Collaborates with other members of the team to ensure that deadlines are met, while minimizing machine downtime.
Consistently abides by established safety rules, procedures, and regulations, including wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses.
Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
Identifies and reports issues to the department manager.
Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
Preferred Skills
Advanced knowledge working with automated PLC based equipment and processes, interpreting and building new programs.
Experience with Rockwell Automation and Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
Experience with ANSI and OSHA safety requirements.
Education and Experience
An associate's degree, or equivalent work experience.
At least five years of experience as technician and two years of experience working with robotics technology.
