


About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role oversees maintenance technicians, manages preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizes equipment downtime, and supports continuous improvement initiatives within a plastics manufacturing environment.
Key Activities
Supervise, train, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Support maintenance and repair of plastics manufacturing equipment, including injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and related processing equipment.
Minimize equipment downtime and respond quickly to production-related maintenance issues.
Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, spare parts, and inventory using a CMMS.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
Identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Monitor maintenance KPIs, including downtime, PM completion, equipment reliability, and maintenance costs.
Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, documentation, and reports.
Promote continuous improvement, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and reliability-centred maintenance practices.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and plant safety standards.
Preferred Skills
PLC troubleshooting and automation experience.
Knowledge of robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.
Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Experience in plastics manufacturing is highly preferred.
