About the Role

The Manufacturing Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day workforce leadership, production execution, employee development, and continuous improvement while ensuring customer demand and production schedules are met.

Key Activities

  • Direct daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

  • Monitor production performance and adjust staffing and resources as needed.

  • Evaluate schedule attainment and address issues affecting output or workflow.

  • Work closely with planning, scheduling and operational support teams to maintain production flow.

  • Monitor productivity, production volumes and delivery performance.

  • Identify operational constraints and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency.

  • Lead, coach and develop production employees.

  • Ensure employees receive appropriate training, tools and resources to perform their jobs effectively.

  • Identify cross-training opportunities to improve workforce flexibility.

  • Provide ongoing coaching and address performance concerns when necessary.

  • Conduct employee performance reviews.

  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and continuous learning.

  • Monitor attendance and staffing levels to support production requirements.

  • Maintain a strong safety-focused work environment.

  • Reinforce proper PPE usage and safe operating practices.

  • Support 5S standards and maintain clean, organized production areas.

  • Ensure employees understand applicable job safety procedures.

  • Identify and escalate unsafe equipment, tooling or workplace conditions.

  • Ensure non-conforming materials and quality concerns are addressed promptly.

  • Review quality trends and work with production teams to prevent recurring issues.

  • Support corrective actions and process improvements.

  • Help improve manufacturing methods, equipment performance, and product quality.

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with established Quality and Safety Management Systems.

  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow and labor utilization.

  • Review high-cost or inefficient areas and recommend improvements.

  • Use production data and performance metrics to drive better operational results.

  • Balance production output, quality, labor efficiency and customer delivery requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to coach, train and cross-train employees.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to analyze production issues and implement improvements.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and production requirements.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 3–5 years of relevant manufacturing or production experience.

  • Previous experience supervising, leading, or directing employees in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of production operations, scheduling and resource planning.
