


About the Role
The Accountant will support the financial operations of our growing 503A sterile compounding pharmacy. This position will manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
Key Activities
Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records.
Perform bank, credit card, vendor, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, payments, and collections.
Assist with monthly and year-end financial close and preparation of financial reports.
Track and reconcile inventory, including APIs, excipients, sterile supplies, packaging, and finished products.
Monitor inventory costs, purchasing activity, variances, waste, and cost of goods sold.
Reconcile pharmacy management, inventory, billing, and accounting systems.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow reporting, and financial analysis.
Review expenses and vendor invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
Support payroll accounting and employee expense reconciliation, as needed.
Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other financial reporting requirements.
Maintain appropriate financial controls, documentation, and confidentiality.
Partner with Pharmacy Operations, Purchasing, and Leadership to identify discrepancies, improve processes, and control costs.
Preferred Skills
Experience in pharmacy, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or sterile compounding operations.
Experience with inventory/cost accounting.
Experience with pharmacy management systems and/or ERP/accounting software.
Familiarity with 503A pharmacy operations.
Education and Experience
6-10 years of accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles.
Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
Expert level Microsoft Excel skills.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
