About the Role

The Production Manager will have a proven track record of successfully managing large teams in the food industry, along with a deep understanding of FSMA, FDA compliance, and familiarity with BRC standards and SAP systems.

Key Activities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the packaging facilities, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.

  • Lead and manage a team of 80-100 associates through 4 supervisors, providing guidance, support, and accountability through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Ensure all processing and packaging equipment is in optimal working condition, working closely with maintenance teams to schedule repairs and prevent downtime.

  • Implement and maintain FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.

  • Utilize knowledge of BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards to manage quality and safety certifications.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts in production processes, focusing on operational efficiency, waste reduction, and employee development.

  • Collaborate with quality control, supply chain, and engineering teams to address any production issues and optimize overall performance.

  • Use SAP systems for production tracking, inventory management, and reporting.

  • Serve as a mentor and coach to supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and growth.

  • Analyze production data to identify trends, address challenges, and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency and output.

Preferred Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of FSMA, FDA a must and BRC regulations highly preferred.

  • Proficiency in SAP for production and inventory management highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in managing large teams and holding supervisors accountable through KPIs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).

  • 5+ years of experience in production management within the food industry, with a strong focus on packaging operations.
